CES 2012

    Joe:
Thanks, guess I’ll try my very best to show up in Munich and listen to your setup. Beside the WE I’m very keen on the stuff you build and on the Garrad record player.

    Best regards,

    Mathias:

If you come to Munich, you are welcome to put your hands on our toys. Given the size of the 15A, you will have to feel these up one at a time!

Yeah, 12A/13A! Going to Seoul to work with this system next month. It might be the best!

Holger, you can register your vote for the 2013 selection at the show.

    Dear Mr. Roberts,

guess I have to find some time to come to Munich this year! What you’ve written about your experiences there sounds quite familiar and it makes me more than curious even though I’ll never have the chance to get my hands on such exquisite „toys“.

All the best wishes for you and your team!

    Best regards,
    Mathias

    Hi Joe,
    glad to hear that.
Most probably a pair of 15a is the next logical step for your Munich setup.
That leaves the 12a/13a combo for the next time :-).

Yes, Silbatone decided to skip CES. Last year we brought a giant WE/GIP horn and had only 300-400 visitors. 76% were totally brain dead. Not worth it.

Munich and RMAF are more our kind of people anyway–hobbyists and experimenters. Fun loving audio folks.

The social experience is a big part of the equation for us and the pure audiobiz audience of CES is not much fun at all.

One guy at CES asked us why we don’t use speakers „that people have heard of“ while looking at a WE 597A tweeter. I told him he was looking at one of the most famous speakers in the world!

Right now we are hard at work putting together a rig for Munich. We think it is time for the famous WE 15A to make an appearance. We will need to cut a pair to fit them through the door but if that is the only way, we will do it.
